SAP GRC HR Trigger

One of the biggest problems in most of the companies is locking the SAP users when they leave the company. Most of the companies the on boarding process is well documented and followed. Since delay in on boarding me delay in access. So the management or the people in charge will feel the pressure. But when the roll off process is not noticed and does not get the attention it needs. Generally HR notifies the SAP System administrator by a Ticket or email. Then proper action has to be taken to lock them.

SAP GRC HR trigger is a system event that is automatically started when a HR personnel record is updated in the SAP ECC System. This usually takes place SAP HR Module.

These events can be propagated to all the SAP systems that the user has access to so that the user does not need to fill out the an access request form

HR triggers help Companies to better manage the SAP security environment and it drives automation efficiencies in the access provisioning process

The SAP GRC HR triggers are captured by the SAP Governance, Risk, Compliance (“GRC”) Access Control (“AC”)application and are processed through user provisioning workflows

Step 1: SAP GRC HR Trigger: HR actions are triggered by a change to a personnel record

Here are some of the examples of changes which can happen in the SAP HR Module: New hire, Termination, Leave of absence, Return from absence, Name change, and Email change

Action from SAP GRC:

The SAP GRC AC instance listens for the request and creates a workflow. Let say a action is taken to Terminate the employee. Then a lock request can be created to the lock the employee in all the SAP Systems. When the MSMP Workflow gets triggered the approvers are notified and they can approve the changes.

Final Step: Make the Changes in Connected Systems
