What does a SAP Security Adaministrator do on the Job

SAP Security Administrator

SAP Security Administrators will have the ability to design and configure authorizations, profiles, and users within the SAP instances and clients. The security administrator will also have full access to client dependent and independent tables (enough access to allow the administrator to troubleshoot problems with users.)

 

SAP User Policy Assignment

Listed below is a high level overview of Security Administrator responsibilities:

Create or change SAP User ID’s (User Master Records) for all users that have submitted approved SAP User Access Request forms.
Keep track of all SAP User ID creation and access.
Create and maintain the SAP profiles and authorizations (all systems).
Perform acceptance testing of new profiles and authorizations. (through Integration Testing)
Present user management with a summary of user access for their direct reports.
Proactively monitor and update all phases of the security strategy as needed.
Research and create an SAP access strategy as well as Users/Profiles/Authorizations for future project development.
Create and update documentation concerning security.
Train helpdesk.
Analyze the effects of system upgrades on the access security strategy and implement changes.
Create and maintain policies and procedures for firm wide security.
Serve as an integration advisor for functional teams (all modules)
Perform security monitoring and analysis according to security standard operating policies and procedures.
