Current approach to provisioning is labor and time intensive process which involves multiple people and teams. The process also involves multiple manual steps and handoff with little and no automated workflow. When the users are assigned the SAP Risk analysis with regards to SAP sensitive and Access has to be checked manually. There is not preventive control and there are lots of opportunities for excess access to be assigned by error or mistake.
The role owners and the functional users are not empowered to participate in the SAP User provisioning process or make knowledgeable decisions when approving access. Usually they get a email saying need access like this person and they approve the with any knowledge on the SAP Risk involved.
